How to use this site:

The site features twelve primary source sets created by the Georgia Historical Society and aligned to the Social Studies Georgia Standards of Excellence for Eighth Grade Georgia Studies. Each set includes three or more primary sources and a downloadable teacher guide with historical background, a bibliography, and suggested activities and projects aligned to the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE). Many of the primary soures are presented as downloadable PDFs, and you can right-click primary sources presented as images to download and use in the classroom. On the Teacher Resources page you will be able to download the teacher guides for each set and find additional resources specifically developed to help teach with primary sources.

A note about copyright:

You can use the digitized primary sources in the sets in the classroom or for personal research. Please provide a proper citation each time you use the images (citations are provided below each item). Some of the items on the site are in the public domain and can be used for purposes outside the classroom, but many are not. Please reach out to the institution the primary source comes from to get permission for any use beyond the classroom or personal research.
